Communication styles training

In the communication styles training is the premise that every person has a preference for a certain way of communicating. One is not a communication style, but one used a behavioural style. Thus, there are four preferred styles:

  • Red decides (directing) easily. Results matter.
    One can - when results are at risk - also be coercive. Perceived by others then also sometimes as dictation.
  • Yellow likes to try (motivationally), an opportunity or innovative idea in mind.
    One can also be volatile at a bad time. For Yellow, the end sometimes justifies the means.
  • For greenery (caring), the human scale applies, people strive for stability.
    Under pressure, Green tends to talk well. Sometimes perceived by others as soft-hearted.
  • Blue likes to think (inquisitively) first, going into details and facts.
    One may react suspiciously if the pressure gets too high. If the pressure stays too high for a long time, Blue may also choose to shirk.

This communication styles training helps enormously in gaining understanding and cooperation. An understanding of the power of diversity emerges. Relationships soften.
